Website The Future Governance Forum (FGF)

FGF is more than a traditional policy-focused think tank. We are a ‘forum’ both in what we do and how we do it. We are dedicated to exploring the ‘how’ of practical implementation by working with progressive leaders and practitioners to test the propositions we explore, and always aligning it to the ‘why’ of the overall progressive cause through our deep understanding of the political dynamics and power structures at play. We advocate for change that works in practice and has lasting impact.

About the role

We are looking to appoint an Executive, Operations and Events Officer to support FGF’s growth in its second phase of development. This role will provide business support directly to the Executive Director and the Operations Manager and will also provide events organisation support.

  •  Diary and inbox management – managing and co-ordinating conflicting priorities and ensuring follow up action
  •  Attending meetings and note-taking including ensuring follow-up where appropriate
  •  Co-ordinating papers or relevant information for meetings attended by the Executive Director
  •  Arranging travel and accommodation

Business support to the Operations Manager:

  •  Finance inbox management
  •  Processing invoices and other payments or purchases
  •  Assisting with pay roll and HR administration
  •  Helping run the FGF office
  •  Handling highly confidential information appropriately

Events organisations support:

  • Supporting the organisation of FGF events, in person and online, public and private – including liaising with partner organisations, speakers, sponsors, venues and other stakeholders
  • Providing support to the Deputy Director and Media Manager, and working with the Research and Communications Officer with the organisation as required
  • Maintenance of FGF’s CRM, ensuring it is kept up to date

Other

  •  Other activities to support the smooth and effective running of FGF as required

Person specification

The successful candidate will have:

  • Two or more years experience in the areas set out in the key responsibilities
  • Excellent organisational skills, with an ability to manage up and down the organisation
  •  Excellent interpersonal skills, with an ability to develop effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent IT skills, proficient in Google suite and CRM applications
  • An interest in planning and delivering the logistics of events (both online and in person)
  • Professional approach, and an ability to respect and maintain a high level of confidentially
  • An interest in the organisation’s work, contemporary public policy trends and debate
