We support young men to find a way out of the justice system and build a stable, rewarding life they can be proud of.
This opportunity has been designed around what Switchback can do for you, instead of what you can do for Switchback. We are looking for someone with lived experience of the criminal justice system who is excited about using their journey to create change in the system.
You do not need any prior experience in policy or communications for this role, just enthusiasm and excitement. It is also important that you can demonstrate a commitment to learning something new.
It would be a great opportunity for someone who wants to start a policy or communications career but not necessary. You will have a chance to be part of our office environment and learn and engage with many different parts and people at our organisation.
What you’ll do, discover and learn
You will gain experience in charity marketing, communications, policy, advocacy and public affairs by integrating and working alongside Switchback’s Influencing Team. You will be supporting on different, projects, events and communications. You do not need any prior experience of these, just being curious about learning these skills.
Who you are
To apply for this job please visit switchback.org.uk.
We know ‘Imposter Syndrome’ can get in the way of a lot of candidates from ethnic minority/lived experience backgrounds with experience and potential so we would like to provide a space for people to come without judgment.
So we are holding an online Q&A from 3-4pm on Thursday 11th April with our Head of Influencing, Antonia May, Daniel Mills, Policy and Public Affairs Lead, Amy Davidson, Campaigns and Communications Manager, Elton Gilbert, Participations Coordinator and Lisa Hickman, HR Manager.
